Music in the Regions presents award-winning, internationally renowned artist, Alex Raineri, performing a thrilling program of Australian contemporary classical works for solo piano.
Described as “a born communicator” (The Australian), Raineri’s touring profile in 2024 includes performances throughout the USA, UK, Ireland, Finland, Netherlands, and throughout Australia.
The program features two major works – John Rotar’s Eastern-inspired ‘Bells and Gongs from the Black Bamboo Cathedral’ and Melody Eötvös’ ‘A Story from the Sand Dunes’ which derives inspiration from a lesser-known Hans Christian Andersen fairytale. Also featured is music by Ian Whitney, Katy Abbott and Michael Bakrnčev.
