“Back to Black” Fashion Display

The clothing and accessories from the White family collection and many other gowns from the National Trust collection, will be displayed throughout the ground floor, adding a layer of interest and richness to the usual house tour which you will find excellent.

Back to Black includes objects on display that span more than 100 years, with well-known designers from both Australian and international design houses.  The display is collaboratively curated by the National Trust Senior Curator and fashion historian Dr Lindy Cramer.

During the guided tour, guides will explore black’s different meanings in the past, while offering visitors the opportunity to reflect on their own relationship with wearing black in the present.
