NECOM Shigeru Piano Launch Concert

Over the holidays NECOM took delivery of our new concert grand piano, a Shigeru Kawai SK7, proudly funded by the NSW Government through the Creative Capital Funding Program. The new piano will be launched on Sunday 19 February at 3:00pm, in a concert featuring the NECOM piano staff and advanced students.

The concert will showcase the new piano in its full capacity: as a solo instrument, a duet and accompaniment instrument, plus a work for 8 hands (4 pianists)!

During the concert, we will be welcoming Dr. Robert Manley to the NECOM Keyboard Department as our new resident accompanist and piano teacher.

The concert will raise funds for the Marian Barford Award to support senior students at NECOM with their music studies in Year 11 & 12. The 2023 winner of the Marian Barford Award will be announced at the conclusion of the concert.
