Uralla Christmas Street Fair
Among highlights will be a live Nativity play, featuring local children (and farm animals) in the old stables behind newly renovated Bolt Inn. Performances are at 5.00 and 5:30pm.
Next door, at Little Birdy Uralla, step into Santa’s Toy Workshop, where you can make your own wooden toys with the Uralla Community Neighbourhood Centre.
Across the road, have free Christmas portraits taken by a professional photographer in Uralla’s historic Joint Stock Bank, with its beautifully preserved 1890’s drawing room and stunning 14-foot Christmas tree as the backdrop.
All along the main street there will be great food, live music and unique attractions, including a mysterious magician’s tent and the North Pole Post Office, where letters to Santa can be written and sent and receive handwritten replies in the lead-up to Christmas.
At The Sweet Place, place an order for a live Christmas tree to be cut and delivered from a nearby farm, raising funds for Friends of McMaugh Gardens .
A special Salisbury Street Christmas Market will feature over 30 stalls of local artisans and producers, showcasing handmade creations and delicious treats.
Nearby, at McCrossin’s Mill Museum and Function Centre, meet the big man himself in Santa’s Grotto. There’s also free gingerbread decorating, live music and the Mill kitchen in full swing.
In the adjoining stables, a special Wishing Tree will be in the new Seasons of New England store, with gifts left under the tree distributed to local families in need.
At 6:30pm, everyone is invited to Pioneer Park for sing-along Carols, followed by the illumination of Uralla’s new main street lights and first-ever Christmas tree – a giant spiral centerpiece of the new Fibonacci-inspired Park.
Don’t tell the kids that The Pie Mechanic will be serving limited edition Reindeer Pies, and for those seeking a little extra Christmas cheer, there will be live music and food served at New England Brewing Co. while Uralla’s favourite The Top Pub will be offering a specialty Christmas cocktail!
Best of all, the Uralla Christmas Street Fair is an entirely free event created by the people of Uralla, proudly funded by The NSW Government’s Open Streets Program and Uralla Shire Council.
