Open Mic Poetry Night
Australian Poetry Hall of Fame 144 Bradley Street, GUYRA, NSW, AustraliaNew poets, old poets and poets from far away, everyone is welcome to perform or listen.
No matter what time of year you visit, chances are there will be an event or festival in or around Armidale.
Events not to be missed include the Autumn Festival, Big Chill Festival, The Bach Festival, The New England Garden Festival, Armidale International Film Festival and Guyra Lamb and Potato Festival. Other great annual events include New England Sings, The Armidale Cup, Guyra Trout Festival, Armidale Youth Orchestra Garden Party, Vintage Truck, Machinery and Heavy Horse Show and the NEGS Equestrian events. The calendar is full with premier sport events including the TAS Rugby Carnivals, Tour de Rocks and the 12hr Mountain Bike Enduro.

To Paint World War I - Richard Travers The Australian artists of World War 1 approached their subject personally in ways that reflected their experience of the war. Australian historian Richard Travers will follow them as they leave Australia in search of inspiration and fame in London and Paris and respond to the international crisis.
The clothing and accessories from the White family collection and many other gowns from the National Trust collection, will be displayed throughout the ground floor, adding a layer of interest and richness to the usual house tour which you will find excellent. NECOM kicks off the Armidale Autumn Festival with an outdoor celebration of live music and local talent! Enjoy performances from New England Brass Collective, JAZZ LAB!, Armidale Youth Winds, New England Singers, Armidale Youth Orchestra, and more. Great music, great food, and a great community atmosphere. In event of rain, the venue will be the Town Hall (127 Rusden Street).
A festival of rehearsed short play readings from original scripts (produced by Margaret Sims and Benjamin Thorn) with a different program each week. The scripts are mostly original and from local authors and there will be Audience Choice Awards. Favourite Shorts is a community event with all actors/readers who express an interest, guaranteed a part. Ticket also available at door.

The Campus to City Canter is a 5km fun run starting from SportUNE Consett Davis sporting fields then following the cycleway into the city and finishing at Civic Park. It is an annual event held in conjunction with SportUNE as part of the Armidale Autumn Festival.
