Events not to be missed include the Autumn Festival, Big Chill Festival, The Bach Festival, The New England Garden Festival, Armidale International Film Festival and Guyra Lamb and Potato Festival. Other great annual events include New England Sings, The Armidale Cup, Guyra Trout Festival, Armidale Youth Orchestra Garden Party, Vintage Truck, Machinery and Heavy Horse Show and the NEGS Equestrian events. The calendar is full with premier sport events including the TAS Rugby Carnivals, Tour de Rocks and the 12hr Mountain Bike Enduro.

Wonders of Hinton NERAM will be running guided tours of the new Wonders of Hinton exhibition throughout the month of February as part of the Seniors Festival. Guided through the new exhibition, NERAM’s curator Belinda Hungerford will share insight and inspiration with participants as they view many works that have not been on display for some time. Guided tour dates are below and we invite participants to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee to conclude the tour.
Runs for eight weeks at a time. 7.00pm registration, 7.30pm start. All the money collected goes to the winner of the overall eight weeks!!! Over the holidays NECOM took delivery of our new concert grand piano, a Shigeru Kawai SK7, proudly funded by the NSW Government through the Creative Capital Funding Program. Wild Thyme is an exciting meeting between three of regional Australia’s brilliantly talented, versatile, and captivating female artists. Coming from diverse musical and cultural backgrounds, the juxtaposition of Arlene Fletcher (double bass), Katie Crane (guitar), and Laura Targett (fiddle), infuses their varied musical passions into an exciting brew of acoustic music which defies genre and cultivating a whole new style of their own.
Come along for a wonderful Sunday afternoon of live music, good company at a great venue. This week the trio features the musical artistry of Sharny Russell on piano and vocals, Wendy Griffiths on double bass and Cary Bennett on vocals and rums, performing classic popular songs from the 1930s through to the 1970s, tunes made famous by Frank Sinatra, tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Peggy Lee, Bobby Darin, Diana Krall, Harry Connick Jr and others.
Tea and sausages available from 11.30am. The music this concert feature organists, Lena Schmalz and Eloise Ford, playing classical favourites arranged for organ, including pieces by Handel, Purcell, Chopin, Mussorgski, and Bach-Gounod. Lena is one of Armidale’s most accomplished organists and Eloise is an emerging star and holder of the Uniting Church organ scholarship.
