No matter what time of year you visit, chances are there will be an event or festival in or around Armidale.
Events not to be missed include the Autumn Festival, Big Chill Festival, The Bach Festival, The New England Garden Festival, Armidale International Film Festival and Guyra Lamb and Potato Festival. Other great annual events include New England Sings, The Armidale Cup, Guyra Trout Festival, Armidale Youth Orchestra Garden Party, Vintage Truck, Machinery and Heavy Horse Show and the NEGS Equestrian events. The calendar is full with premier sport events including the TAS Rugby Carnivals, Tour de Rocks and the 12hr Mountain Bike Enduro.

Lachlan McKenzie is a musician who has gained recognition both nationally and internationally for his formidable abilities as a jazz trumpeter and composer. Following the dawn service there will be a Gunfire Breakfast at 6.30am with the usual cricket match between Wollomombi and Hillgrove at the Hillgrove Reserve from around 10.00am. The Wollomombi Stores' annual 2UP will commence after the finish of the cricket. Everyone is welcome.
Following the ANZAC service there will be Picnic Breakfast (sorry – CASH only) at the Hillgrove picnic area, 50 Brackin Street and cricket match between Wollomombi and Hillgrove at the Hillgrove Reserve from around 10.00am. The Wollomombi Store will host the 2UP following the cricket match. Everyone welcome.
Live music from 1.00-4.00pm and raffles from 4.00pm. Raffles are raising money for Soldier On.
The Armidale Jockey Club concludes its Autumn Racing Carnival with traditional non-TAB ANZAC Day races sponsored by businesses of West Armidale. First race around 2.00pm. Full TAB coverage of other metropolitan races held throughout the country. This is always a fun and exciting day for the whole family. Lock in the date and book your tickets. The Classic and Specialist Car Club of Northern NSW is based in Armidale and has undertaken the task of hosting this Rally. The rally is only open to cars built before 1931.
