No matter what time of year you visit, chances are there will be an event or festival in or around Armidale.

Events not to be missed include the Autumn Festival, Big Chill Festival, The Bach Festival, The New England Garden Festival, Armidale International Film Festival and Guyra Lamb and Potato Festival. Other great annual events include New England Sings, The Armidale Cup, Guyra Trout Festival, Armidale Youth Orchestra Garden Party, Vintage Truck, Machinery and Heavy Horse Show and the NEGS Equestrian events. The calendar is full with premier sport events including the TAS Rugby Carnivals, Tour de Rocks and the 12hr Mountain Bike Enduro.

Armidale Youth Orchestras Extravaganza Gala Concert

The Armidale Youth Orchestras invite the community to its annual concert. Featuring groups from the AYO. These include a full orchestra, string percussion/wind and brass ensembles, plus guest musicians from the Armidale music community – this is a great and inexpensive opportunity to introduce children to the absolute joy of music-making with friends and to celebrate the talented young musicians of our region. Recommended for ages 0 to 100!

Armidale Youth Orchestras – Extravaganza Gala Concert

Australian Army Band Concert

The Australian Army Band is a 15-piece show band, including vocalists, bagpipes, rhythm section and winds. For several numbers the Army Band will be joined by the New England Wind Ensemble (NEWE), Armidale Youth Winds (AYW) and students from local school concert bands.

Rising Stars Concert

The program includes pieces by J S Bach, Tchaikovsky, Bartók and Dvořák, performed by alumni Madison Sim and David Tan (violins), Jonathan Bruhl (viola and voice), and Abigail Thompson (cello), accompanied by pianists Robert Manley, Euga Ruan, and Sheila Guymer. The 2024 prize winners of the Marian Barford award will be announced, and celebrations will continue with refreshments served after the concert on the upstairs balcony with the best views of town. NECOM Shigeru Piano Launch Concert

Over the holidays NECOM took delivery of our new concert grand piano, a Shigeru Kawai SK7, proudly funded by the NSW Government through the Creative Capital Funding Program.
