No matter what time of year you visit, chances are there will be an event or festival in or around Armidale.
Events not to be missed include the Autumn Festival, Big Chill Festival, The Bach Festival, The New England Garden Festival, Armidale International Film Festival and Guyra Lamb and Potato Festival. Other great annual events include New England Sings, The Armidale Cup, Guyra Trout Festival, Armidale Youth Orchestra Garden Party, Vintage Truck, Machinery and Heavy Horse Show and the NEGS Equestrian events. The calendar is full with premier sport events including the TAS Rugby Carnivals, Tour de Rocks and the 12hr Mountain Bike Enduro.

Come along and celebrate the Christmas season with the annual Carols by Candlelight in Central Park. Candles, hymn books, BBQ and drinks will be available to purchase and Santa will drop in for a visit around 8.00pm. If raining, will be postponed to the following Wednesday, 18 December.

A Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony will start the day. This will be followed by the Australia Day Awards Ceremony where some of Armidale’s hidden treasures will be honoured and recognized for their community work. Australia Day Ambassador is Michael Crossland, humanitarian and internationally known best-selling author. Cultural performances will take place from 12.00pm, followed by a lunch to celebrate all our fabulous citizens and local volunteers. Everyone is welcome! Reflect. Respect. Celebrate.
