No matter what time of year you visit, chances are there will be an event or festival in or around Armidale.

Events not to be missed include the Autumn Festival, Big Chill Festival, The Bach Festival, The New England Garden Festival, Armidale International Film Festival and Guyra Lamb and Potato Festival. Other great annual events include New England Sings, The Armidale Cup, Guyra Trout Festival, Armidale Youth Orchestra Garden Party, Vintage Truck, Machinery and Heavy Horse Show and the NEGS Equestrian events. The calendar is full with premier sport events including the TAS Rugby Carnivals, Tour de Rocks and the 12hr Mountain Bike Enduro.

Printing Workshop with Rhonda Ellem

The New England Regional Art Museum is celebrating the Seniors Festival (funded by NSW Government). Join local Black Gully printmaker and artist ,Rhonda Ellem, for two hours of hands-on printmaking using gelli plates where prints are created without the use of the press. You will be guided in the making of a print: from mixing primary colours to selectively using plants and paper stencils to create layered original artworks. No experience necessary and all materials supplied.

The New England Regional Art Museum is celebrating the Seniors Festival (funded by NSW Government). Join U3A Armidale’s Bron Baker and Maureen Lauder for a free one-hour session of yoga in chairs. This session will be held in NERAM’s Mazda Gallery, followed by a free morning tea which will allow an open discussion about health and wellness for our senior citizens. Yoga is an ancient system of physical exercise that helps you develop strength, flexibility and a sense of well-being.

Wonders of Hinton NERAM will be running guided tours of the new Wonders of Hinton exhibition throughout the month of February as part of the Seniors Festival. Guided through the new exhibition, NERAM’s curator Belinda Hungerford will share insight and inspiration with participants as they view many works that have not been on display for some time.
