Events in Armidale

No matter what time of year you visit, chances are there will be an event or festival in or around Armidale.

Events not to be missed include the Autumn Festival, Big Chill Festival, The Bach Festival, The New England Garden Festival, Armidale International Film Festival and Guyra Lamb and Potato Festival. Other great annual events include New England Sings, The Armidale Cup, Guyra Trout Festival, Armidale Youth Orchestra Garden Party, Vintage Truck, Machinery and Heavy Horse Show and the NEGS Equestrian events. The calendar is full with premier sport events including the TAS Rugby Carnivals, Tour de Rocks and the 12hr Mountain Bike Enduro.

Walcha Agricultural Show

Walcha's Annual Agricultural Show highlights the best local products from Walcha and the surrounding districts. Enjoy the sheep shearing and fleece displays; horticulture and local farm produce; the cattle and horse events including dressage, hacking, sporting and jumping; the rodeo events, wood-chopping, poultry and dogs and pets.

Friday, 16 February - Tractor Trek will leave Walcha Showground at 9.00am for a 30km trek around the Walcha area with activities on the way. Saturday & Sunday, 17 & 18 February - Street parade; vintage trucks, motorbikes, cars, engines, chainsaws and more; late model trucks and forestry machinery, tractor pull; market stalls; food stalls; kids' corner. Hosted by Oxley Riders. Camping available at $10 per site per night

Tractor parade (2.00pm Saturday, 18 and 10.00am Sunday, 19); Live entertainment Saturday night; Tractor trek (Friday, 17 - approximately 65 km). Proceeds going to charities.
